This new term “LifeCoach,” what is it really? With a lot of this new age and power of the mind psychology, it is easy to fuse and then confuse terms, titles and roles. So I thought I’d take this time and share my definition of what a Coach is.
A LifeCoach is someone who helps you see that you have much to contribute to life. A LifeCoach helps you discover what holds meaning and purpose for you. A LifeCoach supports you in identifying your core strengths and values and has you look at your life as a hero’s journey. A LifeCoach again helps you create goals that come alive with meaning and excitement and reach your goals with clarity, focus, ease and grace.
It is also equally important to understand what a LifeCoach is not. A LifeCoach is not a legal counselor; however, a LifeCoach can help you clarify whether or not to seek legal counsel. A LifeCoach is not a medical person although he or she may help you clarify whether or not you need to seek medical advice to meet your goals. A LifeCoach is not a therapist; however, a LifeCoach will support you in seeing if there are chronic emotional subjects that could be healed by visiting a mental health professional. A LifeCoach is not a physical trainer, but might help you clarify if you need to consult with a physical trainer to bring your body up to peak playing capacity. A LifeCoach is not a financial advisor, but is someone who can help you see whether or not a financial advisor would help to improve your relationship with money.
With the title LifeCoach, I have a role and as a Client you too have a part to play.
